The 13th day of the Jewish month Adar: most Jews know this to be Purim, the holiday (actually not in the Torah but in the Megillah, a different book) where Haman (BOO) was plotting to kill the Persian Jews. Queen Esther, a Jew herself, saved the people. It is actually one of the most joyous holidays in the Jewish calendar. Children dress up as costume, skits of the story are performed, and adults drink until they cannot tell the difference between good and evil. Needless to say, Purim at Brandeis was a lot of fun:

Also a lot of fun was the BaRuCH nature retreat. BaRuCH is the reform Chavurah at Brandeis (affiliated with Hillel). This past weekend, for Shabbat, we ventured out to Northern Mass and stayed at a Girl Scout Camp from Friday afternoon through Shabbat Saturday. We had services, Israeli dancing, great meals, fun games, and amazing company. It was a lot of fun.
Check out some pics from out guitar session:

PS-- the tent picture was drawn by Jessica, as she was trying to portray our night's sleep Friday. With dew dripping on our faces, cuddling everywhere we looked, and coyotes off in the distance, it was an experience...a good one nonetheless!
